An Internal Auditor in India runs process audits, IFC/ICFR testing, SOX 404 walkthroughs, and operational audits for listed corporates, banks, and global capability centers. The role is risk-based (planning + execution + reporting), supports the Audit Committee, and increasingly uses data analytics (IDEA, ACL, SQL). Most Internal Auditors carry CA + CIA, ACCA + CIA, or CISA for IT-audit tracks.

Big Four (Deloitte, EY, PwC, KPMG) and mid-tier firms (Grant Thornton Bharat, BDO India, Walker Chandiok, BSR & Co) hire Internal Auditors for client engagements. Large in-house teams sit at HUL, Reliance, Tata Group, Infosys, ICICI Bank, JPMorgan India, and Goldman Sachs India. Mumbai, Bangalore, Gurugram, and Hyderabad host the deepest concentration.
