What does a Financial Reporting Analyst do in India?
Financial Reporting Analysts prepare IFRS / Ind AS / US GAAP statements, consolidate group results, run Record-to-Report (R2R) close cycles, handle intercompany reconciliations, and support audits. The largest hirers are GCCs in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, and Gurugram (Standard Chartered GBS, JPMorgan, Wells Fargo, Bank of America). ACCA, CA, or CPA with Dip IFR are the dominant credentials.
What is R2R and why does it matter for ACCA candidates?
R2R (Record-to-Report) is the end-to-end accounting close cycle — journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany, consolidation, statutory disclosures, audit support. Most GCC finance shared-services hiring sits inside R2R towers, and the function is the single largest landing zone for ACCA Affiliates and Members in India. SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, Workday Financials, and BlackLine fluency are commonly required.
