RSM is seeking a manager
• Tax to lead and execute direct and indirect tax compliance, international tax matters, and financial governance activities for its India operations.
This role combines strong technical expertise with hands‑on execution and will play a key role in ensuring robust compliance, managing tax risks, and supporting global tax alignment.
The role will work closely with the Director
• Finance (Tax & Financial Governance) and India CFO, while partnering with US and global tax leadership to support cross‑border tax matters, transfer pricing, and regulatory compliance.
This position requires a “roll‑up‑the‑sleeves” mindset with the ability to independently drive outcomes while contributing to continuous improvement of tax processes and governance frameworks.
Qualification And Minimum Entry RequirementsChartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or MBA Finance or equivalent qualification5–10 years of progressive experience in direct and indirect tax within accounting firms or multinational organizationsStrong expertise in Indian tax frameworks (GST, corporate tax, withholding tax) with hands‑on experience in filings, assessments, and reconciliationsExposure to international taxation including cross‑border transactions, transfer pricing, and tax treaty concepts
Experience supporting or managing APA / MAP processes, tax audits, and litigation matters
Experience working with ERP systems (Tally / SAP / Workday preferred) and strong data handling capabilityStrong stakeholder management skills with ability to work across finance, legal, HR, and global tax teamsPosition ResponsibilitiesDirect & Indirect Tax Compliance LeadershipLead end-to-end execution of GST and direct tax compliance including return filings, reconciliations, advance tax, and tax provisioningEnsure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all statutory filings and tax reportingDrive resolution of tax notices, assessments, and departmental queriesMonitor regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation across finance processesInternational Tax & Transfer PricingSupport international tax matters including intercompany transactions, transfer pricing documentation, and cross‑border tax implicationsPartner with global tax teams to assess impact of evolving regulations on business operationsSupport APA / MAP processes and ensure alignment with transfer pricing policiesEvaluate permanent establishment (PE) risks and global mobility‑related tax implicationsAudit, Litigation & Regulatory ManagementLead preparation and submission of responses for tax audits, assessments, and litigationCoordinate with external advisors, auditors, and regulatory authoritiesEnsure strong documentation, audit trails, and defensible tax positionsTax Accounting & Business IntegrationWork closely with controllership and payables teams to ensure accurate tax accounting and compliance in financial recordsReview tax implications on vendor payments, contracts, and business transactionsEnsure proper withholding tax application and reportingProcess Improvement & GovernanceDrive standardization and strengthening of tax processes, controls, and compliance frameworksIdentify opportunities to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiencySupport implementation of systems (including Workday transition) for tax reporting and complianceBusiness Partnership & Leadership SupportAct as a key support to the Director and India CFO on tax matters, risk assessment, and compliance strategyPartner with US and global tax leadership on reporting, policy alignment, and compliance requirementsProvide practical, business-aligned tax guidance on operational and strategic decisions
