Business Operations & FP&A Analyst (India)
Job Description
Team
Finance / FP&A
Location
India (hybrid), with overlap with EST Hours
Reports to
Sr.
Director Strategic Finance
About the Role
We're looking for a sharp, adaptable analyst to be a force multiplier for the finance team.
You'll take recurring monthly work and make it repeatable, documented, and faster each cycle.
You'll also help turn data into clear narratives for leadership.
This is not a "run the report and send it" role.
We want someone who asks why we do something this way and proposes a better more efficient and repeatable solution.
What You'll Do
1.
Build sustainable processes and SOPs (core focus)
Document how monthly and weekly deliverables are produced, step by step, so anyone could run them.
Turn manual, tribal-knowledge workflows into standardized, repeatable processes with clear inputs, owners, checks, and timelines.
Identify bottlenecks, error-prone steps, and automation opportunities, then recommend and implement improvements.
Maintain a living SOP library and keep it current as processes change.
2.
Monthly FP&A reporting support
Support the monthly P&E financial dashboard update and the review materials that go with it.
Assist with spend al
location work, such as mapping AI and token spend to managers and departments, with gross vs. capitalized views.
Run reasonableness checks, flag variances, and reconcile to prior periods before anything goes out.
3.
Market intelligence
Compile the weekly earnings and market intelligence report from public company earnings materials and transcripts.
Summarize key themes, pull relevant takeaways, and organize them into a clean, leadership-ready format.
Track competitors and industry developments, and flag what matters to our business.
4.
Deck and presentation creation
Build and polish on-brand PowerPoint decks from raw data and rough outlines.
Turn analysis into clear visuals, tables, and storylines that fit brand standards.
Prepare recurring leadership and board-style materials on schedule.
5.
Challenge and improve
Pressure-test assumptions, definitions, and methods.
Respectfully push back when something doesn't make sense.
Bring a point of view, not just output.
What We're Looking For
Must-haves
3 to 5 years in FP&A, finance operations, business operations, strategy, or analytics (flexible for the right candidate).
Affinity towards AI and integrating into daily workflows
Advanced Excel: lookups, pivots, multi-tab models, and structured formatting.
Comfortable with large, messy datasets.
Strong written communication.
You can write an SOP a stranger could follow.
Strong PowerPoint skills and an eye for clean, consistent design.
Exceptional attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work.
Comfortable with ambiguity.
You can take a loosely defined ask and structure it yourself.
Nice-to-haves
Experience with HRIS or payroll data (Paycom, Workday) and ERP or accounting systems (Sage).
Familiarity with software capitalization concepts.
Experience with AI tools (Claude or similar) to speed up analysis, documentation, and drafting.
Basic SQL, Python, or automation experience.
Background in healthcare, payments, or SaaS.
Who Thrives Here
Nimble: You're comfortable switching between a headcount reconciliation, a deck, and a research summary in the same week.
Adaptable: Priorities shift and you adjust without losing quality.
A free thinker: You question the process, offer alternatives, and aren't afraid to disagree.
Ownership-minded: You see a task through, flag risks early, and improve what you touch.
Collaborative: You work well across time zones and with finance, HR, and product and engineering partners.
How Success Is Measured
Monthly deliverables are accurate, on time, and need minimal rework.
Every recurring process has an up-to-date SOP, and turnaround times keep dropping.
Decks and reports are leadership-ready with light review.
You regularly surface process improvements and ideas you've initiated yourself.
