Job Description Associate Director International Taxation & Transfer Pricing (ITTP)
Location: Kolkata
Position Summary The Associate Director International Taxation & Transfer Pricing (ITTP) will lead and oversee international taxation, transfer pricing, FEMA, Company Law and cross-border regulatory engagements.
The role will involve providing strategic tax & advisory services, managing key client relationships, supporting litigation and regulatory matters, and driving business growth initiatives while mentoring and developing team members.
The incumbent will work closely with Partners and senior leadership to strengthen the firm's presence in international taxation and transfer pricing advisory services.
Key Responsibilities
1.
International Tax Advisory and Strategic Consulting
Provide strategic advice on complex cross-border transactions and international business restructuring.
Advise clients on
Permanent Establishment (PE) exposure and profit attribution.
Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAAs).
Equalisation levy and digital taxation.
Foreign tax credit matters.
Withholding tax obligations.
Review and approve tax opinions, technical memoranda, and advisory reports.
Represent clients before tax authorities and appellate forums.
2.
Transfer Pricing Advisory and Litigation
Lead transfer pricing assignments involving multinational groups.
Review transfer pricing compliance and documentation, including Local Files, Master Files, and Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR).
Review benchmarking studies and functional analyses.
Advise on
Business restructuring.
Intangible property transactions.
Inter-company financing arrangements.
Cost-sharing arrangements.
Lead Advance Pricing Agreement (APA) and Mutual Agreement Procedure (MAP) matters.
Handle transfer pricing audits, assessments, and litigation matters.
3. FEMA, RBI and Regulatory Advisory
Advise on foreign investment structures and cross-border transactions.
Oversee compliance with RBI regulations and FEMA requirements.
Review and supervise filings related to:
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)
Overseas Direct Investment (ODI)
FC-GPR and FC-TRS
External Commercial Borrowings (ECB)
Compounding Matters
Coordinate with regulatory authorities, bankers, and legal advisors.
4.
Corporate and Company Law Matters
Provide strategic guidance on matters governed by the Companies Act,
2013.
Oversee corporate restructuring activities, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
Review board resolutions, shareholder approvals, and statutory filings.
Advise on corporate governance and related-party transactions.
5.
Client Relationship Management
Manage large and strategically important client accounts.
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and promoters.
Ensure timely completion of engagements while maintaining quality standards.
6.
Team Leadership and Talent Development
Lead, guide, and mentor Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates.
Drive knowledge-sharing initiatives and technical training programms.
Conduct performance evaluations and support career development initiatives.

location and engagement management.
7.
Business Development and Practice Growth
Identify new business opportunities and expand service offerings.
Participate in proposal preparation, presentations, and negotiations.
Develop relationships with industry associations and professional bodies.
Publish articles, technical papers, newsletters, and thought leadership materials.
Key Competencies
In-depth knowledge of international taxation and transfer pricing regulations.
Strong understanding of OECD guidelines, BEPS initiatives, and Pillar One and Pillar Two frameworks.
Advanced knowledge of FEMA regulations, RBI guidelines, and corporate laws.
Knowledge and experience in Company Law matters.
Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
Qualifications and Experience
Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
